Houston, we have a stray dog...

Houston, we have a stray dog...

If you have ever been to Houston, you know that it is hot! Alone on the streets in the middle of summer is the last place in the world that you would ever want to see a dog. Unfortunately, this is where Adele found herself one afternoon. Luckily, a good samaritan saw sweet Adele running along the side of the road and picked her up and took her to Red Collar Rescue.

Adele was checked out by a vet and placed with a foster family until she could find a loving home that would adopt her. Adele had a wonderful foster family that even included a pitbull sister! Little did Adele know that soon she would have a new brother, a loving mom, and she would become a mascot of a fashion boutique in Houston, Texas.

Carrie, the owner of Carrie Ann, was hosting an anniversary party at her boutique one Saturday afternoon. Carrie wanted to partner with a rescue group and bring in adoptable dogs to her store to help them find new homes. Red Collar Rescue was excited to be a part of this event and sent over pictures of the adoptable dogs that would be at the party. Once Carrie saw Adele’s picture, she knew that Adele would be a perfect fit for her family. At that time Carrie had a 6 year old yorkie named Ollie and she wanted him to have a buddy to keep him company.

Adele was a hit at the anniversary party, everyone wanted to adopt her. She had such a precious/sweet personality. After spending about an hour with Adele, Carrie knew that she was going to adopt her. Red Collar Rescue came to Carrie’s home later that week and did a home visit, Ollie was not too crazy about Adele at first but a week later they became besties.

Adele now has an amazing mom and brother and Carrie and Ollie could not imagine life without Adele. She has such a sweet demeanor and is a great snuggle buddy. Adele loves to sleep under the covers at night or anytime there is a blanket in the room. Adele even gets to go to work with her mom. The next time you are shopping at Carrie Ann, be sure to look for Adele’s picture in the store!
